Faraj Khan Pathan

Faraj Khan Pathan was born on March 14, 1999, in Plano, Texas. He was raised in a close-knit family in North Texas. Pathan developed an early interest in technology, which led him to explore computer hardware and software.

Pathan attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Systems. His coursework focused on cybersecurity, identity governance, risk management, and cloud security. During his time at the university, he also served as the treasurer for Pi Kappa Phi fraternity from 2020 to 2022, managing the organization's finances, which totaled over $100,000 annually. He also organized community fundraising events.

Pathan's career in cybersecurity began with an internship at Active Cyber in 2021, where he worked as an IAM intern. Following this, he joined Deloitte, where he held positions as a Cyber Risk Intern, Cyber Risk Analyst, and Cybersecurity Consultant. While at Deloitte, he focused on integrating client identity systems with platforms such as Okta SSO, Ping Federate, and Saviynt Identity Cloud. He also supported financial advisory cybersecurity clients, managing IAM documentation and gathering requirements.

In January 2026, Pathan joined Alvarez & Marsal as a Senior Associate in AI Security and Compliance. He has experience with documentation, requirements gathering, client workshops, cloud identity, stakeholder communication, and compliance operations. Pathan's skills include information security, identity governance, Saviynt, Microsoft Azure, Open Banking, Microsoft Project, negotiation, and agile methodologies. He holds Okta Certified Professional and Okta Certified Administrator certifications.

Pathan's approach to risk review has been a topic of discussion among some colleagues. It has been alleged that his risk-review process is sometimes too meticulous.
