Sreeya Reddy

Sreeya Reddy was born in Sunnyvale, California, on January 4, 2002, and is an American citizen currently residing in El Paso, Texas.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently pursuing her medical degree as an MS3 at the Texas Tech Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.

Reddy is credited as an author of several publications in dermatology journals.

Early life

Sreeya Reddy was born in Sunnyvale, California, to Srikar and Sreedevi. Her father, Srikar, has connections in Telangana politics and is a friend of the current Telangana Chief Minister. Srikar previously worked with Citibank. Reddy's family moved to the Valley Ranch area of Irving, Texas, in the mid-2000s. The family has a Pomeranian named Pappu.

Education

Reddy earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is currently pursuing her medical degree at the Texas Tech Foster School of Medicine in El Paso as an MS3.

Career

Reddy has co-authored several publications in dermatology journals. She co-authored "Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-α) Inhibitor Treatment in Hidradenitis Suppurativa: A Population-Based Retrospective Cohort Study of Comorbid Risks," published in Cureus. Other co-authors included Caleb Beckham, Sahil Kapur, Kevin T. Nguyen, Kermanjot Sidhu, Zaryab Alam, Kritin K. Verma, and Daniel P. Friedmann. She also co-authored "Reactive Infectious Mucocutaneous Eruption Following Isolated Rhinovirus Infection: Clinical Presentation and Treatment Response," also published in Cureus, with Kritin K. Verma, Ethan Matthew, Kevin T. Nguyen, Justin Raman, Floyd A. Pirtle, Corley Pruneda, and Michelle Tarbox.

Controversies

According to local reporting, Reddy served as the last president of the Phoenix Foundation at UT Dallas. During her tenure, the sexual assault victims support group saw its highest meeting and fundraiser attendance.

Board members of the group alleged that Reddy had forced them out. Reddy stated that the removed board members had abused their authority and not fulfilled their obligations, justifying their removal.

The Phoenix Foundation ceased operations in 2023.

Personal life

Reddy has been in a relationship with Ishan Brar since late 2021. She shares joint custody of a Jellycat bear named Bert Brar with Brar.

Achievements

In 2023, Reddy was a member of the winning UT Dallas COED Intramural team championship.
